About Tara Howse

Tara Howse (MA, Interdisciplinary Studies) is a social scientist and consultant who works at the intersection of resource development, equity, and human rights. She brings intersectional, community-based perspectives into decisions about major projects and public policy, with a focus on gender inequities, Indigenous rights, and socioeconomic impacts.
Tara’s work spans social impact assessment and monitoring, Indigenous-led oversight, and gender and cultural safety initiatives in the resource sector alongside public policy research on energy transitions and resource governance. She works with communities, Nations, governments, and project teams in resource-affected regions and is actively engaged in international networks on impact assessment, land use, human rights, and just energy transitions.
